Private Mental Health Assessment UK

NeuroPath provides clinician-led private mental health assessment pathways for adults, children and young people across the UK. We take time to understand the person, their circumstances and the information needed to discuss an appropriate next step.

A thoughtful, person-centred assessment

Mental health concerns can affect people in different ways and can overlap with life events, physical health, neurodevelopmental differences and other factors. The clinical team considers the available information carefully and explains what is needed for a complete assessment.

Any questionnaires or information from another professional can be useful assessment inputs. They support, rather than replace, clinical judgement and do not determine a diagnosis on their own.

Your assessment may include

  • Time to discuss current concerns, relevant history and what support may be helpful
  • A careful review of the context around the person, rather than a single questionnaire alone
  • Consideration of information from other professionals or people who know the person well, where appropriate and consented to
  • A clear explanation of whether a NeuroPath pathway is appropriate and what the next step may be

Not for urgent or emergency support

Please do not use this enquiry route if you are in immediate danger or need urgent help. Call 999 or attend A&E in an emergency. For urgent mental health support that is not an immediate emergency, contact NHS 111 and select the mental health option, your GP, or a local urgent mental health service.

Before you enquire

What is a private mental health assessment?

It is a clinician-led conversation and review of the concerns someone is experiencing, their relevant history and the context around them. The purpose is to understand what may be helpful and whether the requested pathway is appropriate.

What concerns can I discuss?

You can contact us about a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, low mood, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, trauma-related experiences or other difficulties. The team will discuss whether NeuroPath is the right service for the enquiry.

Is this an emergency or crisis service?

No. NeuroPath is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or attend A&E. For urgent mental health support that is not an immediate emergency, contact NHS 111 and select the mental health option, your GP, or a local urgent mental health service.
